Mission Statement

The mission of Scales Technology Academy is to provide a balance of core knowledge and 21st century skills to develop global citizens who will live productively in our changing world.

Unlike any school in Arizona, Scales Technology Academy will provide laptops to every student – kindergarten through fifth-grade. Technology will be integrated into every subject. Our caring, supportive teachers will promote information and technology literacy. They will empower the students to become critical thinkers, problem-solvers, and independent learners.

Scales Technology Academy will set precedence for other schools by leading the way into the age of technology.

Our Vision

Scales Technology Academy will provide a learning environment that will excite and engage students. Our teachers will provide lessons that are a mix of traditional teaching and technology integration.

For example, every teacher will use a SMART Board (interactive white board) to enhance learning. These white boards have the ability to show teacher lessons, the Internet, photos, and all curricular materials directly on the screen. Teacher lessons and computer content truly come to life. Students can even save the pages shown or written on the board. For example, when a teacher is working through a math problem on the white board, the teacher can save the lesson for student review. Later, such as when they are doing homework, students will be able to play back the math problem on their laptop to guide them.

Other technological advancements will be used in the classroom, including audio enhancement. Studies have shown that audio enhancement not only promotes student engagement, but also increases student achievement.

Teachers will be highly trained in the best ways to infuse technology into every subject. They will teach to different learning styles to ensure that Arizona State Standards are not only met, but exceeded.
