Child Care
Many of our students currently use local private before- and after-school childcare facilities. Some facilities do provide the transportation to and from our school site. Some parents take their children to the Boys’ and Girls’ Club located just down the street from Scales Technology Academy. Other school programs such as after-school clubs or academic sessions will have a late bus provided for the involved students.
City of Tempe's Kid Zone
One option for before- and after-school child care is the City of Tempe's Kid Zone program. This program is currently offered at the nearby Holdeman Elementary School campus. (See a map of Holdeman Elementary School)
Parents who choose to enroll their child(ren) in Kid Zone will need to drop off their child at Holdeman Elementary in the morning before school, and/or pick up their child at Holdeman in the afternoon following school. The Tempe Elementary School District will provide transportation between the Holdeman and Scales Technology Academy campuses.
The City of Tempe’s Kid Zone Enrichment Program is an award-winning program that offers before- and after-school care in an affordable, safe, and nurturing environment. This program differs from many traditional before- and after-school programs in that it offers more than just supervision. In addition to snack, homework assistance, and learning centers, children have the choice to participate in enrichment classes at no additional fee. Examples of enrichment classes that may be offered include foreign language, soccer, cooking, science, math, multi-cultural, yoga, and nutrition. Kid Zone’s goal is to make your child’s experience memorable, rewarding, and fun.
